Location

The name “Sainte-Émilion” is a byword in the field of wine production.  It is situated in SW France, a medieval town, and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.  The quality of its wines is due to a combination of the geology and micro-climate.  Market day is on a Wednesday throughout the year and in July/August also on a Sunday.  It takes up the entire central square.

French transport systems are excellent.  The TGV from Paris to Libourne takes just 3 hours and costs between £70-130. Driving from Paris will take about double that time.  In addition there are plenty of international flights from the UK to Bordeaux.
